Was this God’s definition of happiness? Is this what Jesus suffered and died on the cross for?

In the middle of our pain and brokenness, we convince ourselves that other people never experience similar feelings.

At first this knowledge brought me a sense of peace. The peg hole I had been placed in felt comfortable, secure. Affirming, almost.

Suddenly, I realize that this place is different.

God, who heard my James 1:19-20 prayer on the morning commute, heard my cries of wrecked confession on the drive home.

The best way to change the world is by loving the person in front of you. And in the furnace of fostering, my kids are learning that, too.

In that moment a gentle voice whispered to me: Cheryl. This is bible study.

The sunlight is beautiful, don’t get me wrong. But it annoys me how it illuminates all the cleaning that needs to be done.
